Life is for sure tough. Especially if you didnt live the regular kind of life... Sticking around in your home town with long time childhood friends, or perhaps from your local job... Marrying, being conventional, having kids and staying around family.
If you left the comforts of the small life and explored... living many lifes along the way... Maybe family did the same, left the regular life, living across the country or even the world...
Meeting many people along the way, leaves a lot of room for loss of all kinds.
But no matter who we are and how we lived - there is no way we have not been touched i some way by the pain of grief.
If it's not a grandparent that went to soon - or perhaps that you didn't even get to meet...
It could be a parent, a friend, a child...
How can one reconcile the pain of this lifetime if we do not have God.
Does it satisfy truly - if God is just everything... Or maybe theres many, many lifetimes, so we can return and live it again - maybe this time you are the child, or the grandparent?
I mean maybe that satisfies the heart break enough... better than just being absorbed into the oneness of everything being God, back to source... or that it just ends, tragically - Full stop.
For me the pain of this life was so huge.
How can you ever get over not seeing the one you love most ever again?
My heart would break every single time i thought about my grandma... How could I make peace with a life that never was, when grandads were both gone by the time i could retain memories - one before I was even born... How can you make peace with that?
And I know people who have it all.. but they lost that one person, so it doesn't matter what they have - they still cant face that loss, they cant watch anything sad or quit the drinking, or think about it too much because the loss is so devastating.
Then there's Parents who carried babies and nurtured them only for them to be torn away under the most tragic of circumstances far too soon... How can you ever be ok with that?
The immediate reaction may be to curse God... How could a God do this to us, or if there was a God this would never happen... When the answer lies in God himself.
Because realising God exists allows this not to be it. It allows us to believe in heaven, in a point to it all, and in a heavenly father who loves us and walks us through all of it, so we are not alone.
Suddenly the pain can begin to heal and a bigger picture starts to form.
We start to realise they are with him, and that so will we be one day too... The tragedy of this world seems to not be so bad, and we can start to have more compassion for the suffering of others whilst we are here. We can see outside of our own immense pain to realise there are always others who suffered more - and so we choose to lend a hand.
I tried all the methods of healing to "process" this pain... to get rid of it, to "integrate" it to whatever and it does not work. Pain is a part of the parcel of being here - but you know who can ease our suffering and bring us back to life. God.
This world in the end can only take from us - whereas he can give us eternity.
